Our Team
The TEFL Europe course is led by combination of a permanent (below) and visiting team of qualified teacher trainers with years of experience of teaching in various cultures and situations. They are university qualified and ensure not only the high standards of the course, but also a sense of fun and trainees have as constructive and useful an experience as possible. In addition there is also an external board of academic advisors (EBAA).
George Phillips, TEFL Europe Director George is the co-founder of TEFL Europe and English Non-stop, the school TEFL Europe is partnered with. He originally studied a BA in English Literature and then an MA, before long teaching stints in his home-town of London, Berlin and Prague. Involved in course design from its inception, George brings the experience and knowledge of teaching at all levels. His simple idea of bringing the English language to real communities has in fact led to the success of the English Non-stop language centre in Prague. Fluent in German, Czech, and French, George specialises in the grammar part of the course. Currently he says he is particularly enjoying adding to the TEFL Europe course by helping to organise trips to Venice, from Croatia, and Berlin, from Prague.
Dr. Jenny Owen (Head of EBAA) Jenny holds a Phd and has developed various university degree programs and TEFL syllabuses including TEFL Europe's. She also has a vast experienceof having taught English in a number of countries, before her involvement with TEFL Europe. As well as her work at British universities, she also chairs EBAA and helps guide our team.
Peter Sullivan, TEFL Europe course director Since graduating from art school in Reading, England, Peter has worked in several course director positions, as well as in marketing in Britain. Not only does Peter's experience in working in numerous business contexts prove he is an excellent communicator, able to pass on his experience during the TEFL Europe course, but he also specialises in transferring his knowledge of various art forms to the classroom by communicating visually. Outside teaching, Peter's passion is for contemporary art, and he enjoys viewing, and creating, everything from traditional art forms to graffiti.
Vim Parmar, English Non-stop course director and Teacher Trainer Vim was born in Britain, but brought up in the Toronto area in Canada, where he started out his career as an IT specialist, but, as he puts it - 'something was missing'. After teaching stints in Greece and Britain for a number of well-known language schools, he joined English Non-stop, in 2004, going on to become the most in-demand and hardest working teacher of 2005! As all our teachers, Vim exemplifies through his popularity among students and teacher training standards, the quality TEFL Europe strives to pass on to its participants.
Lucie Bartova, English Non-stop co-founder and Admin. Head Lucie manages the staff at TEFL Europe in its day-to-day running. A Prague native, she has lived in London and Berlin before returning to Prague to graduate in IT and economics, subsequently using her knowledge to begin English Non-stop. Lucie's customer service skills have helped create the success of our business, but she is also able to apply those skills through fluent English and German. In her spare time Lucie enjoys skiing and travelling.
Klara Kuncova, Admin. team Klara is studying for a degree in Spanish after which she will fulfil her dream of going to Chile next year. Originally from northern Czechia, not only does she speak fluent Spanish and English, but she is a musician and plays the piano and saxophone. Since starting with us last year, Klara says that she enjoys talking to teachers about their experiences in Prague and is able to help them find their bearings in the new country.
